What Does It Mean To Have A Positive Result In Rubella Igg Test During Pregnancy?
hi,we are very much upset as just 3 hours before my wifes test for rubella igg is positive 221 iu/ml and she is pregnant 8 weeks...now our doctor has recommended another test for igm,,,please do let us know the details and its cure in pregnancy...thanks

Rubella is viral infection which can affect fetus transplacentally ...causing congenital malformations in baby if active infection occur in frst 12 wks of pregnancy and active infection is denoted by Ig M antibodies. Such affected pregnancy shud be diagnosed by anamoly scan n terminated.... IgG means chronic infection of past ...it doesnt affect the pregnancy... So no need to worry
