General & Family Physician, Dr. P. Mahesh's Response
HI Madhavi,
Welcome to HCM. Your daughter has urinary tract infection. The fever may be due to this infection. Encourage your daughter to drink plenty of water. While washing after passing stools, take special care that the vulval area does not get contaminated with the bowel washings. Commonest cause of urinary tract infection in female children is due to E coli, which is a commonly found bacteria in the stools. In addition regularly wash the vulval area with soap and water and maintain general hygiene. Wishing your daughter all the best.
