What Does Involuntary Twitching Of Head In A Diabetic Patient Indicate?
My husband felt his head moving this morning when he woke up. He describes it as if he were cold and "shivering", but he said he is not cold. I observed him and it is an occasional twitching of his whole head. He is diabetic and thought it had stopped after he took his insulin, Then it started again. He put on a jacket and he thought again it had stopped, but it did not. He is 71 year old.
Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. It appears to be head tremor or involuntary contractions if neck muscles. 2. Make sure his glucose control is good. Along with it evaluation of potassium and calcium is necessary as electrolytes imbalances commonly cause it. 3. Meet a neurologist to rule out other causes of tremor. Get the tests done. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
