I had a recent ultrasound which states the following: Oral contrast material opacifies much of the small bowel. There is minimal wall thickening in the transverse and descending colon. There is a small amount of fat stranding in the splenic flexure. There are a few diverticula in the sigmoid colon. The appendix is normal in caliber. There is a 2.8 cm hypodense lesion in the left ovary that contains material measuring less than 20 houndfield units. Otherewise, the uterus and adnexae appear grossly normal.
There is slight thickening of the wall of large bowel with presence of out pouchings or diverticula and some fat with prominent markings along side. These features can refer to inflammation. There is also a 2.8 cm fluid containing cyst in left ovary. The uterus and right ovary are normal.
You may take treatment from a surgeon for your large bowel inflammation. If there is persisting symptoms then a colonoscopy is required.
