What Does High WBC,RDW,neutrophils And Low MCV Levels Indicate?

Hi, I have been diagnosed, about 2 years ago, with spherocytosis based on anemia and an osmotic fragility test. I also have an enlarged spleen. My recent bloodwork changed for the worse, despite my efforts with exercise, losing weight, etc. I am always tired but I push through to get healthier. Recent bloodwork- anemia (6), high WBC (15,000), high RDW, high Abs. Neutrophils, high Abs. Lymphocyte, low MCV. Any idea what is going on? My thyroid has been checked and it is in normal range. Thank you.

Thanks for your question in HCM. WBC is white blood cells suggest infection. High neutrophils suggest bacterial infection. So you are having bacterial infection some where in the body. High RDW is Red cell Distribution Width. This signifies that your RBC s are not of equal size some are normal some are smaller. Low MCV ( mean corpuscular volumr) means RBC s are smallerwith low volume. Both these suggest iron deficiency anaemia. So you should consult your doctor and start antibiotics and iron supplement also consult haematologist for spherocytosis.
