What Does Growing Black Spot On Face Indicate?

I have always had many beauty marks: countless ones on my body, three on my neck, and three on my face. However, the beauty mark which rests in the smile lines between my nose and cheek has grown. When I was a child, it was completely flat. It began to grow around age twelve, little by little, until now at the age of 23 it is clearly raised and looks more like a bump of fat with a beauty mark on top of it. None of my other beauty marks have become raised like this. It is smaller than a pencil eraser, and not easily noticeable since it hides in my smile lines, so it does not bother me. I just wish it would stop growing. Is this normal? Is it just an accumulation of fat that has bunched up over the years under my beauty mark? Will it continue to grow? Or should I be worried about cancer? Should I have it removed?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

I can understand your concern for discoloration black spot on face and can make out it as Melanocytic nevus. These are simple spots which are formed due to genetic tendency of melanocytes under the deep skin of dermis.
You should always notice: A for Asymmetry: one half is different from the other B for Border Irregularity: The edges are notched, uneven, blurred C for Color: The color is uneven. D for Diameter: Diameter is greater than 6 millimeters or pencil tip. As it smaller than pencil eraser so nothing is to be worried about

Take care
