Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does 'four Precordial And Four Preventricular Contractions' Indicate In A Heart Monitor?
I'm 21 years old. Exercise once a week. Eat relatively healthy. Slim to average build. No diagnosed medical conditions. I have heart palpitations pretty often which I've gotten used to but twice in the past 5 years my heart stopped for 5-15 seconds, I'm not sure. Both times I lost consciousness, hit my head, and woke up completely pale and cold and weak. EKG came up normal, bloodwork normal. The 24-hour heart monitor says I had 4 preaiordial(not sure) and 4 preventricular contractions. Any idea what this is and what I can do about it?
HI Thank for asking to HCM I can understand your problem you have not got the exact terminology, this could be preventricular excitation and that must have been noted in pericardial lead of 4 (V4) this is conduction defects further investigation would be needed to rule out the exact cause, mean while it is advisable for you to stay at home because syncope attack would be possible, I hope this answer would be helpful to you take care and have nice day.
