What Does Fishy Smell In Vaginal With Bloody Discharge Mean?

My vaginal area had a fishy smell and today when I went to the bathroom I noticed blood coming out (already got over my period for the month). And it had some discharge. I don t know if this is an infection but I want to get rid of this right away. I have not ever had sex either.

Hello,

I can understand your concern. Fishy odor with bloody vaginal discharge indicates presence of bacterial infection. It may occur due to unsanirary hygiene measures.

Take Levofloxacin 250 mg (Levoflox) twice a day for 5 days. Wear cotton and not too tight undergarments. Keep away from scented soaps and perfumes in the area while washing the area with warm water time to time. Drink lots of fluids. The symptoms should disappear by the time the medicine course completes.

If it continues, you should go for vaginal swab analysis.
