What Does Enlarged Stomach Lining And Enlarged Lymph Nodes Indicate?

I was recently diagnosed with Celiac Disease. I have been having left side abdominal pain along with unintentional weight loss. My gastro doctor ordered a CT scan which says it shows an enlarged stomach lining and enlarged lymph nodes. I have also been running a low grade fever for the last few weeks. Should I be at all worried about the results of the CT scan?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of being suffering from Celiac Disease and have left sided abdominal pain along with unintentional weight loss, CT scan shows enlarged stomach lining and enlarged lymph nodes in the abdomen. There is low grade fever for the past few weeks. Wants to know whether to be worried about CT scan report?
With the history you have provided, it is very important to go for further studies to decide the cause.
I would advise you the following:
Upper GI endoscopy and biopsy.
Guided FNAC or lap FNAC of the lymph nodes as this gives the best chances of diagnosis.
Antibiotic coverage if infection is suspected and to review by serial ultrasounds.
Colonoscopy.
Stool tests and other blood and urine tests help for overall diagnosis and helps in a plan of treatment.
