What Does Enlarged Heart Indicate?

Is this serious when...1) the heart is enlarged. ..2) Aorta us tortuous and sclerotic...3) Pleural thickening is noted over both apices...4) There is a patch of density over the left paracardiac region.....with all these, does the person needs to be hospitalized...thank you so much..

1. enlarged heart with symptoms like difficulty in breathing and chest pain is definitely serious.. you need to get yourself checked for that...

2. sclerotic aorta is usually age related.. you need not worry...

3. pleural thickening is also mostly secondary to any infection or any invasive procedure in past.. need not to worry..

4. patch of density over left pericardiac region can be a pneumonia patch. if you have symptoms like fever / chest pain / pain on lying on the same side / coughing, then get it checked...
