What Does Continuous Ringing Sound In Ear Indicate?

I a constant hissing in my ear. It feels as if there is air escaping from it.....when I plug my ear it seems to stop. I have had a ringing noise that doesn t go away in my other year for years. Could this new symptom in my other ear be related? Like tinnitus?

There may be possibility of perforation in your ear drum or you may have otosclerosis leading to ringing sound in both ear, may or may not simoultaneously. Some time weakness in auditory nerve present like that. You may need audiogram to confirm the diagnosis, as treatment is different for each disease.
