What Does Chronic Microangiopathic Changes In The Below MRI Brain Report Infer?

I had an MRI of my Brain and the results are as follows...please let me know what you think of this result. My headaches will not stop numbness in my head and face and all over pain. There is focal T2 Flair hyperintensity in the left centrum semiovale and confluent T2/Flair hyperintensity in the right frontal periventricular white matter. There is no mass or mass effect or abnormal extra -axial fluid collection. Diffusion imaging shows no hyperacute, acute, early subacute infarction. The ventrilcles are normal in size, shape and position. There are normal signal voids in the larger intracranial vessels.Impression:Minimal white matter changes are strictly non specific the differential considerations include migraine headache effect, chronic microangiopathic changes, gliosis, vasculitis, Lyme's disease, and demylinating disease including mutiple sclerosis. Clinical correlation and follow up is advised

Hello

Few scattered foci of abnormal parenchymal FLAIR and T2 hyperintensities in the white matter may be due to ischemic( decreased blood supply and oxygenation due to involvement of small blood vessels)changes in white matter of brain.

Ischemic changes generally occurs in conditions like hypertension, altered lipid profile, diabetes mellitus, vasculitis etc. These conditions damage small blood vessels and this leads to ischemia.
So,you need screening of these conditions. It includes proper clinical examination and investigations like routine hemogram, random blood sugar, liver function test, renal function test, lipid profile.

You may need to take few medicines after evaluation.

However other causes may be demyelinating disease, migraine headache, edema, gliosis etc. These conditions should also be ruled out and you may need follow up MRI to see progression of lesions.

Get well soon.
Take Care
