Any kind of post menopausal bleeding needs evaluation.
I think what you mean by cervical area is actually - endometrial thickness.
By
ultrasound the thickness of the endometrium ( lining of the uterus ) can be measured.
If that is measuring 1.1 cm, it is thicker than normal.
It carries a definite risk of
endometrial hyperplasia, a few types of which are precursors for
endometrial cancer.
Yes, it is important to have a D and C and obtain a biopsy of the uterine lining.
That will tell you what are your odds of having a cancer.
I do not think you need to worry , as the chances are very small, less than 4 % in fact.
Being
overweight, smoking and
diabetes will up the risks though.
Proceed with the biopsy as advised and do upload the results so that I can guide you accordingly.
