HI

Thanks for posting your query.

There are many causes of calcification in lungs .

1. Old Bacterial or Parasitic Infections ( Healed Infections )
2. Accumulated Silicon deposists-- Usually seen in people who are exposed to sand particles for long term .
3. High calcium levels in blood --( There are many causes for that )
4. Conditions like Sarcoidosis , Amylodosis ,
5. Cancer .

The need for evaluation and the kind of evaluation depends on the size and appearance of calcification seen on X ray.

If you need to go for further evaluation then get the following test done :

CT Chest, Serum ACE levels , Serum Calcium Levels, AEC.

Kindly revert back with the tests reports.

Regards.
