What Does Brownish Vaginal Discharge During Pregnancy Indicate?

I am 12 wks pregnant. I have been having some light, dark brown vaginal discharge. I notice it more when I use the restroom & wipe. Just a few minutes ago, I went to the restroom & noticed a small, stringy clot. I'm not having any craps & nothing is red. What can this be & is this normal with some women?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Bleeding or spotting in early pregnancy can be due to threatened or missed abortion, subchorionic haemorrhage ( bleeding around the fetus) or due to local lesions in cervix or vagina.
I would suggest you to get a ultrasound done to confirm the diagnosis and get properly examined and treated by an OBGYN specialist.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
