What Does Brown Vaginal Discharge Indicate?

I have been on the implant in my arm nexaplon I believe , birth control for over two years, will be 3 in May which is when I’ll have it taken out. Lately I’ve been having dark brown discharge and I want to know if that’s normal and how to stop it?

Hello dear,my name is dr,Dorina Gurabardhi.I understand your concern.
Brown vaginal discharge may happen right after periods, and is just "cleaning out" your vagina.
Old blood looks brown or spotting blood/brown discharge may occur when you are ovulating/mid-cycle.
Other causes can be:
-perimenopause
-late period
-Birth control
-Pelvic Inflammatory Disease
If it continue you should see a gynecologist for more information.
