What Does Baby S Femur Length (FL) Is In The 9th Percentile Mean?

I am 38 yrs old- first pregnancy- I am 5 3 and father is 6 2. My current weight is 147. I am a healthy person and all other exams are normal. I am 29 weeks and the sonogram revealed that my baby s femur length (FL) is in the 9th percentile. The doctor told me not to worry but I am. I have been reading about different genetic diseases, dwarfism etc . . My next sonogram is in 4 weeks . . what does 9th percentile means and its implications. Thanks

Hello dear thanks for trusting Health care magic.
It is suggestive of slightly growth retarded baby but not necessarily if the weight of the baby is good and other parameters are normal then nothing to worry as baby can be a constitutionally small baby

OBGYN Dr. Manisha Jain's  Response
Hello, definitely it is on lower side but a follow up ultrasound after 3 weeks from now and determination of growth scan will help in exact problem delineation
