What Does Anteverted Uterus Containing Single Cystic Area Mean?
Just had a scan to confirm pregnant showing less than my date at 5 wk thought I was 7wk report says anteverted uterus containing single cystic area no evidence of yolk sac or fetal pole yet? To early normal ovaries no adnexal masses or free pelvic fluid conclusion pregnancy of unknown location
Usually the uterus is bending forwards which is called as an ante vertex uterus. This is a normal uterine position. However, a single cyst inside the uterine activity without foetal pole and no evidence of viable pregnancy elsewhere outside the uterus also indicates that there is no viable pregnancy. Empty sac without foetal pole is known as Blighted ovum. Such pregnancy does not grow. If it does not get aborted of its own, it needs termination of pregnancy. please report to your Obstetrician and you will get the proper treatment.
Such event happens many a times without a repeatative cause and in future normal pregnancy may be expected.
I hope you have got your query solved.
