What Does A Red Spot On Tongue Indicate?

I have a red spot on the front top surface of my tongue, it doesnt bother at all except when i eat spicy foods in which it starts to burn. It has been there for a week from what ive noticed maybe longer, could this be anything dangerous? Are there any remedies i can try to make this sore go away?

thanks for or query, i have gone through your query, the redness over the tongue could be because of the depapillation secondary to anemia or nutritional deficiency..or it can be a fungal infection...consult a oral physician for complete examination and needful... i hope my answer will help you take care..
