Good afternoon. My wife has a rash in her genital area marked by redness under the skin, itching and inflammation. Additionally she is tired. She has been seen by several dermatologists and the prescriptions they ve recommended (Mostly creams) seem to not be of any affect. They have ruled out STD s, shingles and common skin disorders and I was wondering about Dermamyotitis. My childhood friend has it and the symptoms he describes sound similar. I looked at some pics on the net and some look similar. But I was wondering if the symptoms of Dermamyositis have ever been observed in the genital area. Additional info: She has (8 years ago) dealt with an autoimmune disease where her platlet count dropped below 10000 resulting in the removal of her spleen and treatment using strong antibiotics. I m really concerned and would like to give her info to present to her Dr s for perhaps alternative treatments as what s currently in use is not working
