What Does A Mass Formation On Knee Cap Mean?

Hello. I have had a soft cystic type mass the size of a large marble on the front right side of my kneecap. It doesn t hurt terribly but when I press on my knee cap at times I can feel slight pain throughout the knee & the mass itself is slightly tender. When I first noticed it 2 months ago, my leg was actually sore. Since then, it has not grown in size but has not gotten smaller either. I notice discomfort more on some days than others. What could this be?

Hello

I have studied your case.

If bursa is painful surgical excision is treatment.
If you want temporary relief intrabursal injection can be given which will give long term pain relief.
There may be recurrence of pain after injection.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

Wishing you good health.

Take care.
