What Does A Lump Behind The Achilles Tendon Indicate?

Hi, I have a bulge at the back of my achilles tendon just above my heel. It is very sore and sensitive when my shoe rubs against it. I had the same thing happen several years ago and it was a tear in my Achilles tendon. Do I need to see a doctor for this? Can anything be done for this?
