What Does L3 L4 Disc Dehydration With Diffuse Disc Bulge Indenting Thecal Sac Mean?
Hi, I have been experiencing severe pain when I stand up or walk in the lower back area. My lumbar spine MRI came up with the following finding: L3-L4 disc dehydration with diffuse disc bulge indenting on thecal sac causing mild bilateral neural foraminae narrowing. Can you advice what I should do as a next step? Any exercises that I can do at home?
Hi thanks for using HCM.... Discc is a fluid filled thing separating the vertebral bones.Spinal nerves ie.the nerves originating from the spinal cord comes out through the space between the vertebrae. This space is created by the intervertebral disc.Sometimes the disc will be bulged out from the space and the vertebrae will be narrowed and put pressure on the nerve roots. This causes pain and usually the pain will radiating. In your case the lower back area is the problem and you can have pain radiating to the lower limbs. In some cases there won't be any direct pressure on the nerves but there will be inflammation around the nerve root which causes pain. The muscle also will be stiff.Hence rest and physiotherapy will help. You have to follow your doctors advice. Thank you?...
