What Does ESR 3.6 And CRP 4.1 Suggest?

Hi. my son is 2 year 6 months old he had fever for 5 days from feb 13 to feb 18. we had done his CRP , ESR SGPT , urine test and becteck (blood culture test) on 17th. now urine report is normal. blood culture report is normal. ESR is 36 and CRP is 4.1. now doctor has suggest to repeat the test. CRP and ESR. please suggest whether it normal or its some thing critical

Hi and thanks for the query,
both ESR or erthrocyte sedimentation rate and CrP, otherwise called c reactive protein are markers of inflammation. ESR shows chronic inflammation and CrP varies more rapidly. CrP is more suggestive of a bacterial infection, while ESR is very non specific. Kind regards
