What Does 4.0 Protein In Urine Indicate?

I had a blood test done last month and all results were in the normal ranges...Yesterday after a random drug test for work, I was pulled aside after the test and told that I need to see my doctor due to a 4.0 on the protein result..How serious is this in the change in just one month ?

hai,

High level of protein in urine is termed as proteinuria.

For a random urine sample, normal values are 0 to 20 mg/dL.

For a 24-hour urine collection, the normal value is less than 80 mg per 24 hours.
however your range is 4. but whether it is mg or some other parametric measurement.

after a strenuous exercise and dehydration protein will be there in urine.
commonly kidney damage may indicate high level of protein in urine.

Kindly visit your treating physician for further specific investigation and physical assessment.
