What Do White Spots In Throat Indicate?

I have white spots sort of like patches on the back of my throat on both sides of the hanging thing in my throat (sorry I don t know the medical term for it) it has been like that for a while now. I was heavily bulimic in the past and use to smoke. I no longer do either of those things. I ve had it checked out and the doctor said it was a post nasal drip and I ve taken an antibiotic and it still has not gone away. What could this be?

Hello & welcome to HealthcareMagic forum.

As per your clinical history it appears that you are most probably having follicular tonsillitis . In this condition whitish infected material present in the pits of tonsils resulting into tonsillitis .

If I were your treating doctor , I would advice
Antiseptic chlorhexidine Mouth Wash twice daily ,
Plenty of fluids ,
Paracetamol for pain ,
Antihistaminic for post nasal drip &
continue antibiotic .

You will get relief .

Hope this information helpful to you, take care and have a nice day.
Regards.
