What Do Ultrasound Results Mean In The Light Of Missed Periods?
Hi! I just got an ultrasound because of missed periods and here is my results. uterus normal in size, shape & anteverted in position.Myometrium echotexture homogenous. Endometrium centrally placed.Cul de sac: free from collection. Right ovary: 3.1x1.4 and left: 2.9x1.7. what does this mean?
Hi, I have gone through your query and here are your answers: 1. The ultrasonogram picture is suggestive of a non-pregnant and perhaps, non-ovulatory state. 2. The uterine cavity is empty. If you were pregnant, the gestation sac would be visible by now. 3. The presence of free fluid in the pouch of Douglas suggests ovulation and since this is not observed, anovulatory cycle is a possibility. 4. The right ovary is slightly on the higher side in size. This may or may not be significant. You can wait for a natural onset of periods for a week, repeat the sonogram and plan further management. Hope this helps.
