What Do Staph Epidermidis And Growth Of Skin Contaminants Mean?

Hello,my age is 25yrs and I`m 30 weeks pregnant.I have no medical history and no problem in pregnancy till now. My reports are all normal. My doctor advised me to undergo HVSculture test to see whether there is any infection or not. Today I got my report indicating staph epidermidis and skin contaminants grown. I want to know what it means and is everything normal?

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your clinical history and query, my opinion is as follows:
1. HSV culture is negative that means you are not having HSV infection.
2. However if there is any vesicle on skin or genitalia or anyother skin lesion then a relook is necessary.
3. Not to bother about skin contaminants as they are seen normally.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
