What Do My Ultrasound And CT Scan Results Indicate?
US RETROPERITONEAL LIMITED STUDY 11/8/2014 8:09 AM HISTORY: KIDNEY STONE DISCUSSION: Comparison is made with an ultrasound of 09/21/2014 and a CT scan of 03/28/2014. Real-time sonography and color Doppler imaging was performed of the kidneys. The right kidney measures 12.2 x 3.8 x 5.9 cm, the left kidney measures 13.1 x 4.9 x 5.4 cm. There is no hydronephrosis or perinephric fluid. Renal cortical thickness and echotexture is preserved. There is a 3 mm echogenic structure along the lateral left kidney which may represent a non-shadowing calculus. Survey views of the bladder are unremarkable. A single cine clip was also performed of a pregnant uterus showing a viable fetus in the uterus. What does this mean

1.The report suggest there is an hyper-echoic structure noted in the left kidney - which is given as a renal calculus / stone.
2.In this case there is possibilities of being an fat or a calcification - if 3 mm calculus plenty of fluids will be good enough to flush out.
3.At the time of scan the pelvis - the uterus was seen with a viable foetus.
4.For the above condition - a dedicated pregnancy scan is recommended for foetal well being and to evaluate the age and condition.
5. Recommend to get an ultrasound examination and OBG appointment for medications required.
