What Do Large Blood Clots During Menstruation Indicate?
My menstrual cycle was 18 days late. I took over-the-counter pregnancy test several times and they all came back negative. My cycle finally came on and it has been on for almost 4 weeks. It started off as my cycle normally would as I am not a heavy bleeder. Now the bleeding is a little more than moderate and I ve been passing large clots. There have been times where I could feel quick Flo and I will have to rush off to the restroom only to find a large clot. And each time I have to urinate I could feel passing of the blood clots or tissues if that s what it is. I ve been worried about what it may be or may have been.
Hello, Thanks for letting us know your health concern. In the current scenario, the possible causes for the bleeding pattern are an undetected pregnancy or a metropathic cycle due to hormone imbalance. To clarify, you can get the estimation of the serum beta-hCG titres along with a pelvic sonogram. Histopathological analysis of the tissues expelled aids in the diagnosis and further management. Please see a specialist for a proper appraisal. If it is an incomplete abortion, evacuation and curettage are needed. If it is a metropathic cycle, styptics and hormones are needed to retrieve the cycle. Please maintain a healthy lifestyle. Take care.
