Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your symptoms it seems that excessive salivation and pain in throat can be either due to infection in throat caused by bacteria or virus or else it can be due to GASTRO-ESOPHAGEAL REFLUX DISEASE in which there is regurgitation of acids from stomach into the throat leading to throat congestion, chest discomfort ,there can be burning sensation in chest and throat too, and excessive salivation..

I would suggest you to consult an ENT surgeon and get evaluated..

In case of acid reflux your doctor may prescribe you Proton pump inhibitors like Pantoprazole or Rabeprazole and antacids like digene or gelucil to be taken half an hour before meals ..
Avoid spicy and acidic food.
Drink plenty of water to maintain hydration and helps in dilution of acid..

In case of infection antibiotics ( for bacterial Strep throat) can be taken .
Do warm saline gargles.Avoid spicy food and maintaining hydration can help..
Throat lozenges can be relieving..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
