What Could Vaginal Bleeding Between Periods Indicate?

Hi, I ve been having vaginal bleeding on and off for the passed three to four weeks. I don t know what to do or what it could be. Im only 19 so i shouldn t be having any thing wrong down there for a while right? Im not on the pill, and i don t have the Bar in me. I do smoke occasionally.
