What Could The Redness Around Pimple On Breast Be?

Hello. For the past week or so, I have noticed a pea sized reddish and purple bump (like a pimple or ingrown hair lump) on my left breast. Today, I noticed some skin scaling so I flaked it off. What proceeded was a creamy white pus followed by blood. Now, the bump looks inverted, so to speak. This bump is about an inch or less from my nipple. It doesn't itch and I only noticed it when getting ready for a shower. What could this be?

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

I would keep a possibility of folliculitis(bacterial infection of hair follicle).

I normally advice my patients of folliculitis to apply a topical antibacterial ointment like 2% mupirocin twice daily for a week or so.

A couurse of oral antibiotics is indicated if the infection is deep seated OR extensive.

take care
regards
