What Could The Reason For Sudden Pain Under Arm And Ribcage, Cold Hand And Foot With Pain In Upper Shoulder And Neck?

Sunday evening, while driving home from Church, I started having pains on my right side, under my arm and rib cage. When I got home, I put a heating pad on, which helped and the pain went away, within an hour.Since then, I have noticed that my right side is much colder than my left, especially my right hand and foot. Also i have pain in my upper shoulder and neck. I m not sure if this is all related, since I have never had these problems before. I am 68 years old. Thank You, JR

Hello,
Thanks for your query.
These symptoms could be due to nerve related or due to vascular compromise.I would suggest getting this evaluated by an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.Meanwhile you can take anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
