Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my sis-in-law has been suffering w hives, and swelling for months now the dr's in indiana dont know what is wrong after mri ct scan they see nodules on liver & want to biopsy it to rule out cancer. I live in CT & we have great medical treatment up here I am doing research to try & give her a direction of what it could be?
She is having liver nodules. Hence malignancy needs to be ruled out TriphasicCT scan and serum AFP estimation will be beneficial in rule out HCC. If needed USG guided biopsy can be done and sent for histopathology examination for rule out malignancy. According to cause specific treatment given. CBC also should be done to check eosinophila. If needed for rashes antihistaminic drug like phenylephrine can be prescribed. Consult a physician or gastroenterologist for examination and further work up accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Parth Goswami
