What Could The Lump In Nostrils Be?
Hi,
For a few years, I have had problems with the inside of my nose scabbing. Scabs form, and when I blow my nose they come away with mucous, and it trickles blood.
It also gets very tender occasionally, so that I'm really aware of it if I inhale through my nose.
My right nostril has a lump I can feel protruding from the septum.
The doctor gave me antibacterial cream a while ago and it made no difference.

The lump which you feel inside your right nostril would probably be an enlarged turbinate (Tubinate are mucosa lined bony shells inside nasal cavity.the mucosa may get enlarged and congestd in case of infection/inflammation).
The scab formation which you are suffering from might be due to dryness in the nasal cavity or might be due to a mucosal injury inside nose.
You may get relief by taking following medicines:
Oral decongestant like Phenylephrine with nasal decongestant drops like Xylometazoline(take decongestant only if you are not suffering from hypertension),
Oral Antihistaminic like Cetrizine,
Analgesic and Anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen and
Saline nasal spray.
Also stop touching inside nose,it may cause injury to the nasal mucosa by finger nail,which may aggravate your problem of scab formation.
Do steam inhalation.Drink plenty of fluids as they help to maintain moisture inside the nose internally.Avoid dust and cold food.
