What Could Swelling In Elbow And Shoulder In A Breast Cancer Survivor Refer To?

Hi. This is about my Nan, not myself. She is 85 and has a large swollen arm from her elbow to her shoulder. Her arm is leeking fluid from what appears to be a tiny hole in her elbow. She also has a swollen lymph node in her neck...not sure if that is connected. She had breast cancer about 7 years ago, which she recovered from and has arthritis.

Hallow Dear,

She had breast cancer. She must have undergone surgery. Usually during surgery, involved lymph nodes are removed. That causes swelling of the arm. Moreover, if the remaining if any lymph nodes or lymphatics are involved by the cancer tissue later, such swelling will show.

Please report to your Oncologist for opinion and treatment if available!
