General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

As per your history and problem, actually it is a post menstrual spotting which seems to be dysfunctional uterine bleeding.

If this is your first episode I am not suggesting you any evaluation, but if this is repeat episodes I will suggest you to undergo few minimum investigations i.e. scan pelvis (to see if there is any problem with uterus or ovaries), thyroid function test (thyroid abnormalities can present with irregular bleeding) and haemoglobin (to rule out anemia).

If you had unprotected intercourse before 15 days of your starting menstrual date then there might be chances of pregnancy but you should go for UPT after 18 days of unprotected sex.

Generally treatment is recommended after investigation and I use combined OC pills for my patients with similar episodes.

In short, you can wait for a few days more and I expect the spotting to stop.

If symptoms persist or if the episodes recur subsequently, you are advised to seek medical attention.

Consult your gynaecologist for further evaluation.
