What Could Severe Pelvic Bone Pain Post A Hip Replacement Surgery Suggest?
I had a right hip replacement 6wks ago & still have severe pain in my pelvic bone region. My leg muscles have atrified, which I m told is normal, but I have no muscle strength to lift my leg w/out the assistance of my hands to help move it...coopers ligament? Or possibly a fracture from surgery that hasn t healed yet? Help!! Its very painful! PS: I m only 41!
I have studied your case. I will advise fresh x ray to see for any fracture. Physiotherapist will help you better to learn more exercises in proper protocol.
An ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION of the involved area or an MRI scan will establish the nature of pathology.
As you can have bursitis after the total hip replacement surgery, I suggest you to consult an Orthopedic surgeon (preferably a Joint replacement surgeon) for a detailed examination, workup and further management depending upon the nature of pathology.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
Take care.
