What Could Pus Oozing Sore On Elbow Forming A Red Line Towards The Armpit Indicate?

I have a sore on my right elbow that leaks some sort of puss and it itches really bad, and just in the last several hours I have noticed a red line coming from that sore and it has made it to my armpit, I have been marking on my arm to let me know how far the line has gone and it s growing at about 2 inches an hour!!! Now it s up to my armpit and I can t see where the line is going anymore! Should I go to the doctor or hospital?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that there might be having bacterial infection on elbow and now there might be having thrombophlebitis producing red line going to armpit towards axillary lymph nodes.
You might require one course of antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicine course for 3-5 days.
Consult your doctor and get examined.
Ok and take care.
