What Could Lumps Post A Pacemaker Surgery Suggest?

Husband had Pacemaker surgery on February 4th. We have been checking the incision daily and one side of the incision has a lump about the size of a golf ball. It was larger when he first came home and it has gone down in size. His antibiotics ended on the 9th of February. Should we be concerned?

Hi,Welcome to HCM.This could be due to Post-Pacemaker Hematoma and tissue edema. As antibiotics are given and as lump has come down, would reduce in next 10 days time, and risk of abscess is very less.
Still you have to watch for late infections and Abscess.
Hope this would help you to resolve your query.
