What Could Headache, Stiff Neck, Hearing Loss And Vertigo Post An Accident Indicate?

•     A 50-year-old woman is admitted with chief complaints of headache and decreased range of motion in her neck. She also complains of vertigo, hearing loss in one ear, profuse sweating, and uncontrollable eye movements. Her past medical history indicates that she was in a motor vehicle accident three days before her admission. o     What specific diagnostic examinations would you recommend? Why? o     What conditions should be ruled out? Why? o     How would you distinguish between these conditions? What are the possible causes of these symptoms?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dr. Hanif warmly Welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.

This is due to the injury to the brain and cervical spine.

MRI of the brain is advised with and without contrast to see the lesions in the brain. Conditions to rule out are:
Concussions injury to the brain.
Cerebellum damage.
damage to the vestibular system.
Any Cranial nerve damage.

MRI is necessary to see the above mentioned clinical issues.

Any abnormalities will be easily diagnised with the diagnostic tests and physical examination (Injured nerves or part of the brain affected shows symptoms accordingly).

Hope I answered all of your health concerns . If you have further questions in future, feel free to contact me anytime & I will get back to you in no time. Please give a positive feedback.

Have a wonderful time ahead.

Best Regards!
