What Could Diarrhea Every Day With Dark Brown Watery Stool Signify?

I have had diarrhea every day for several weeks now. Tonight, for the first time, my stool was extremely dark (not black, however) and completely watery. What does this mean? I have seen that a black, tarry stool indicates internal bleeding. However mine was just an extremely dark brown and not tarry.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Extremely dark brown watery stool indicates a possible issue with the intestine flora due to a variety of reasons which may be related to the intestine, pancreas, liver or else.

Must consult an expert gastroenterologist, get necessary work up with lab tests, ultrasound and colonoscopy done to rule out any possible pathology inside the abdomen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
