What Could Chest Pain With Family History Of Heart Disease Suggest?

I am on Lopressor 100 mg. 2 x daily for BP - my BP has ranged (in the last 2 days) from 98/61 before meds to 140/92 after meds, with pulse rate of 108 and 101, respectively. I have infrequent chest pain and a family history which includes 3 brothers with major heart disease. Should I be concerned?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, you should definitely concern about these chest pains because you are hypertensive and having strong family history of heart diseases.
So better to consult cardiologist and get done blood pressure monitoring, ecg, 2d echo and stress test (trade mill test).
Strict control of hypertension is needed.
You may need additional cardiac supportive drugs.
Don't worry, you will be alright.
Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
