ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding one complication of common cold leading to soreness in larynx and trachea.

In this reference I would like to tell you that if the virulence of infecting organism is high or the resistance of our body is less or compromise by diabetes, chronic renal disease or any other chronic infection than there is possibility of extension of infection to produce ACUTE TRACHEOBRONCHITIS. This is one complication of common cold and demands prompt care otherwise patient may land on PNEUMONITIS , another serious condition.

I hope your query is answered.

Regards.
