Started a low dose birth control about 4 months ago. Haven t had any problems until this month. I started my period on Jan 10, 2014 and it lasted for four days. A week and a half later on the 23 I had another full period accompanied with all the accessories that come along with a period: sore breasts for one day, cramping, acne.. I don t know whether it matters or not but the bleeding started the exact day my fertile days before ovulation would have began. I had ovulation pain the day I was scheduled to ovulate which was day 4 of the bleeding. The bleeding has stopped now but I still can t help but feel uneasy. I haven t missed any pills this month. My boyfriend and I have sex pretty often wothout protection. Can you tell me if I should be concerned? Or what could possibly be happening?
Dear member, Thanks for writing to healthcare magic. If you are continuing Oral contraceptive pills regularly then you cannot ovulate as the purpose of the pill is to stop ovulation. The intermittent bleeding has been seen with low dose pill as the amount of estrogen is insufficient to support the endometrium. you can consider switching to a pill with at least 30microgm of ethyniyl estradiol. Also try to take it at same time every day. thanks. Dr Bhagyashree
Hi,Welcome to Health care magic forum. It appears that you have either anemia,or infection. I advise you to consult a gynecologist for diagnosis and treatment.though there is pain it may not be the ovulation,as you are not expected to have it. Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and protein rich foods to have blood, good health and resistance against the infections. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
