What Could Cause Red Rashes On Butt Cheek ?

my 12 year old granddaughter has a severe red rash originating at the top of her butt cheeks and spreading all over the left butt cheek. It is not on the other cheek. It itches, we have tried to treat the itch, no poison ivy involved, seems to still be moving. Can you help.

Hello,
Welcome to HCM,
For me it looks like a fungal infection over the butt cheek, but other conditions like eczema, contact dermatitis or allergic conditions.
To confirm the diagnosis you need to undergo physical examination. It looks like
a fungal infection and these fungal infections can be treated by
1.Keep the area dry and clean
2.Apply Antifungal cream on the rashes
3.Oral antihistamines
If the symptoms are persisting for longer period of time they may require oral antifungal drugs.
I would suggest you to consult your dermatologist for thorough examination and find the exact cause for the rash and itching.
After identifying the root cause the management will be easier.
Thank you.
