What Could Cause Pain Below The Rib Cage (upper Stomach), Back, Neck And Shoulder Blade?

Hi, I will list my symptoms in order of occurrence.
For quit awhile now I have tenderness and pains under my right ribs. There had been times I can not sleep on my sides or bend a certain way. It goes through to my back and sometimes the the low right part of my back hurts. When bending over it feels as if there is something under my ribs does not belong there or there is not enough room for what's under there. Inflamed or swelled. Next, a few days ago I woke up with my upper right shoulder blade area hurting. The area where the back, shoulder and neck meet. Thought maybe I slept on it wrong. The second day the same, but by the end of the day it was hard to turn my head and neck and it was a familiar feeling, thought I was having a back spasm. Had them before but they are usually a little lower and more to the left. Went to urgent care the 3rd day when I woke it was very painful and I could barely move. Doc gave me a toradol shot and scrip for Motrin 800 and a muscle relaxer. Took a total of 2 motrins throughout the day and one muscle relaxer before bed. That night I was woken by upper stomach pain. First thought was one of the meds is upsetting my stomach. That 4th day I only took 1 Motrin and was still having stomach pain here and there through out the day. 5th day I took no meds and still had pain

Hi,

As per your history it seems that your suffering from cholelithiasis( Gallstone). A characteristic symptom of gallstones is a "gallstone attack", in which a person may experience intense pain in the upper-right side of the abdomen, often accompanied by nausea and vomiting, that steadily increases for approximately 30 minutes to several hours. A patient may also experience referred pain between the shoulder blades or below the right shoulder. These symptoms may resemble those of a "kidney stone attack". Often, attacks occur after a particularly fatty meal and almost always happen at night, and after drink.
Gallstone risk increases for females (especially before menopause) and for people near or above 40 years.
A positive Murphy's sign is a common finding on physical examination.
Diagnosis can be made using ultrasound or radionuclide biliary scan.

You should consult your doctor for necessary investigations and treatment.
