What Could Cause Pain After Treatment For H.pylori?
Hello, i am 29 y old,
i was recently diagonsed with h. pylori via blood invstigation and the result is positive ,i was treated with triple therpay for one week only after one week doctor give me lorsec PPI the last week I finished them now the pain feels like it is coming back - does that mean i still have the infection? when should i re-check the H.pylori test? shoul i wait for time if the pain will go or i should take another triple therpay dose.
WELCOME TO HCM, The available regimen for h.pylori eradication are1) omeprazole, amoxicillin, and clarithromycin for 10 days;2) bismuth subsalicylate, metronidazole, and tetracycline for 14 days; and3) lansoprazole, amoxicillin, and clarithromycin which has been approved for either 10 days or 14 days of treatment.NOW FAILURE RATE ARE SIMILAR FOR EACH REGIMEN AND DEPENDS ON AN INDIVIDUAL. BUT I WOULD SUGGEST YOU TO DO UREA BREATH TEST AFTER 4-12WEEKS FOR ERADICATION AND REPEAT ANOTHER REGIMEN IF H. PYLORI ARE STILL PRESENT I PESONALLY BELIEVE 2ND AND 1ST REGIMEN ARE BETTER BUT WAIT TO SEE YOUR RESULTS
