Acid in some form is also needed for formal functioning of the gastrointestinal system. Hence you can stop and sometimes try other ones like Ranitidine. Upper GI endoscopy, ph studies, esophageal manometry and so on should be done to determine the cause of your symptoms. Take Domperidone as a motility regulator. Take Vitamins D in therapeutic dosages and calcium for osteopenia; consult an orthopedic surgeon to determine further course of an action. For reflux, there can be surgery if required as indicated after full evaluation and on consultation with Surgical Gastroenterologist.
